The phrase COME AND TAKE IT is a phrase that originated at the Battle of Midway in coastal Georgia, but became widely popular at the Battle of Gonzales during the Texas Revolution. As a symbol of defiance, the Texans fashioned a flag containing the phrase "COME AND TAKE IT!” along with a black star and an image of the cannon which they had received four years earlier from Mexican officials. Just as the Texans said to the Mexicans, we say to anyone attempting to infringe upon our Second Amendment Rights, “COME AND TAKE IT!”
