Dogwood Black

In 2010 Dogwood Black was created by some high school seniors as a school project at the Commonwealth Governors School in Virginia. The project was to create a fictitious company, business plan, and marketing.  They launched the fake company online underneath the company name Southern Ties. Then the unbelievable happened they got orders. They apologized and explained that the company wasn’t real but then retail stores started calling wanting  to carry the products. So they gave into demand and started making fraternity bow ties.
